Yashnabad mayor rewards himself with 62 million sums for ‘sector achievement'

The mayor of Yashnabad district in Tashkent, Bakhtiyor Rahmonkulov, declared his sector the winner of the "Most Initiative Sector" nomination and subsequently awarded himself 61 million 875 thousand sums from the local budget. This decision was made on October 25, 2024, when Rahmonkulov signed a resolution on the allocation of funds based on the over-fulfilled budget for the second quarter of 2024.

According to the resolution, which references the decision of the Yashnabad District Council of People's Deputies, the funds were allocated to reward Rahmonkulov as the head of sector 1. The document specifies that more than 61 million sums were drawn from the district's budget surplus.

Bakhtiyor Rahmonkulov, born in 1976 in the Tashkent region, holds degrees from the Samarkand Higher Military Automobile Troops Engineering School (1997) and the Academy of Civil Protection of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (2008). His professional background includes serving as Deputy mayor of Tashkent City and Head of the Main Department of Housing and Communal Services from 2018 to 2020.
