A citizen of Uzbekistan has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting and raping a female passenger in Japan, Fuji News Network reported.

The incident reportedly took place on March 6 in the Naka Ward of Nagoya. A bystander heard a woman screaming for help at a bus stop and immediately called the police.

When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they found a 28-year-old woman calling for assistance. A 31-year-old unemployed Uzbek man was arrested on the spot and charged with rape.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect allegedly led the woman to a secluded area while she was on her way to work and assaulted her. However, he denied the charges, claiming that his actions did not constitute violence.

It should be recalled that earlier, in the Moscow region of Russia, a 35-year-old Uzbek man was accused of raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter over the course of nearly a month.
