Murderer who killed 5 members of a family was sentenced to life imprisonment

5424In July of this year, a man in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region set fire to his house following a dispute with a relative. The tragic incident occurred on July 26 at 6:19 a.m. on Nurafshon Street in the Yangiyul district.
The Emergency Situations Department received a report about the fire, prompting firefighters from the Fire Rescue Department to respond and extinguish the flames. During an inspection of the house, authorities discovered the bodies of a man born in 1991, a woman born in 1999, two children born in 2021 and 2022, and a girl born in 2018. The victims were identified as a husband, wife, their two children, and a niece, all of whom had sustained various injuries.
The suspect in the crime was apprehended the following day. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 29-year-old suspect was a relative of the victims and that the crime was allegedly motivated by a financial dispute.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported that the Yangiyul District Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (Intentional Murder). Following a four-month investigation, the case was forwarded to the court, and the first-instance court hearing began on November 15.
Initially charged under Article 97, the defendant later faced additional charges, including Part 2, Subparagraphs “a,” “c,” “j,” “z,” and “i” of Article 97 (Murder); Part 1 of Article 118 (Indecent Assault); Part 1 of Article 134 (Desecration of a Grave); Article 164 (Robbery); and Part 3, Subparagraphs “c” and “d,” as well as Part 2, Subparagraph “b” of Article 173 (Intentional Destruction or Damage to Property) of the Criminal Code.
The trial was conducted in a closed court session, as required by Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
On November 28, the Tashkent Regional Criminal Court concluded the proceedings and delivered the verdict. The defendant was found guilty of intentional murder, defamation, desecration of a grave, robbery, and intentional destruction or damage to property. He was sentenced to life imprisonment under Article 59 of the Criminal Code. The court determined that the sentence would be served in a special-regime penal colony.
