The national football team of Uzbekistan has climbed from 61st to 60th in the latest FIFA ranking, marking a slight improvement. This rise follows two victories in September, which enhanced Uzbekistan's prospects for advancing to the third stage of the World Cup qualifiers.

Under head coach Srečko Katanec, Uzbekistan remains 8th among Asian teams. Japan leads the continent, having moved up two spots to 16th place. Iran, Uzbekistan's group rival, ranks 19th, followed by Qatar (44th), UAE (69th), Kyrgyzstan (106th), and DPRK (111th).

At the global level, Argentina holds the top position, with France and Spain rounding out the top three teams in the FIFA ranking.
