The Defense Ministry issues a statement on the situation on the border with Afghanistan

Previously, it was reported on social networks that a terrorist group ISIS organized a missile attack on defense facilities in the Uzbekistan city of Termez from Afghanistan side. Sherzod Asadov, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Administration and President’s spokesman, said that the reports were false.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan also issued a statement on the case, and stated that the situation on the border is stable and under control. In particular, the Ministry’s statement says:
“Reports about missile attacks on military targets in the Uzbekistan city of Termez from Afghanistan does not correspond to reality.
The Uzbek-Afghan border is fully controlled by the Uzbek military and a stable situation is ensured.
We urge our citizens not to believe such fake reports and to rely on official sources».
