The World Boxing Association (WBA) has mandated a bout between Uzbekistan's Murodjon Ahmadaliev and Japan's Naoya Inoue in the junior lightweight division. Eddie Hearn, the head of the "Matchroom Boxing" promotional company, announced this development on his X page.

"There is only one fight left for Inoue in the junior bantamweight division. It will be a real battle! The WBA has scheduled the fight... it's time!” Hearn wrote.

Inoue, who holds the WBC, WBO, IBF, and WBA (Super) belts in this weight category, defeated Australian TJ Doheny by technical knockout in the seventh round on September 3.

Murodjon Ahmadaliev is currently the mandatory challenger for Naoya Inoue in the WBA rankings. The WBA had previously ordered a fight between these two boxers, but the parties were unable to reach an agreement at that time.
