Governor of Navoi region Normat Tolkinovich Tursunov has been elected senator. This is reported by the Uzbekistan News Agency.
It is noted in the report that today, 17 December, a joint meeting was held in the city of Navoi to hold the election of a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan to a vacant seat in the region.
In the oral election, regional governor Normat Tursunov was elected as a member of the Oliy Majlis Senate.
For information, Tursunov was appointed acting governor of Navoi region on 25 November 2021. Before that, he headed the Tashkent state tax department.
We remind you that on 8 November 2021, Normat Tursunov was appointed acting governor of the region after the resignation of Qabul Tursunov, who led the region for many years.
