Major theft reported at UzTest regional branch

A large-scale theft has been uncovered at the Bukhara regional branch of the “State Institution of the Center for Scientific Testing and Quality Control of Uzbekistan” (UzTest), operating under the Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan. The news was reported by UzA.

According to reports, one of three pieces of testing laboratory equipment imported from Germany has gone missing. Specifically, a “Brake Stand” weighing 1.2 tons and valued at 150 million soums, along with a gas cylinder measuring device worth 250 million soums, were stolen from the branch.

In addition to the theft, it has been revealed that approximately 6 billion soums were spent inefficiently within the institution.

As of now, UzTest's press service has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.

For reference, it was previously reported that UzTest planned to take action against a blogger who had published a video reviewing the inspection process of electric vehicles.
