“Uztemiryulyulovchi” was fined

A financial penalty was imposed on "Uztemiryulyulovchi" JSC and "Passenger Transportation Around the City" LLC due to violations of the law, as reported by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

It was noted that the Competition Committee studied the activities of "Uztemiryulyulovchi" JSC and "Passenger Transportation Around the City" LLC based on the laws "On Competition" and "On Protection of Consumer Rights."

According to the findings, the brokerage fee from 606,380 tickets sold by the Fergana branch of "Uztemiryulyulovchi" JSC in 2023 amounted to approximately 660 million sums. Additionally, from January to July 24, 2024, "Passenger Transportation Around the City" LLC at the Fergana branch of the railway station(s) overcharged 185,806 tickets by a total of 560 million sums. In total, 792,186 consumers were overcharged to the tune of 1.3 billion sums.

As a result of the study, the Committee's special commission issued an order to "Uztemiryulyulovchi" JSC and "Passenger Transportation Around the City" LLC to refund the overcharged fees by the Fergana branch for intercity and suburban passenger transportation. A financial penalty was also imposed. Additionally, mandatory instructions were given to eliminate legal violations and prevent their recurrence in the future.

It should be noted that earlier, a violation of the law was identified in the state procurement of 954 million sums conducted by the Department of Improvement of Syrdarya District.
