Uzhydromet has issued an urgent warning regarding the risk of snowfall in Uzbekistan’s mountainous regions due to expected rainfall and temperature fluctuations between January 23 and 27. The agency cautioned that this could increase the likelihood of avalanches.
The warning specifically affects the Bostonliq, Ohangaron, and Parkent districts of Tashkent region (Chotkal Ridge mountains), as well as the Pop district of Namangan region, where avalanche risks are heightened.
Citizens living in these mountainous areas, along with vacationers and drivers traveling through these regions, are urged to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
Earlier reports indicated that wet and cold air masses are expected to enter Uzbekistan mid-week, contributing to the adverse weather conditions.
