Uzgidromet issues urgent warning

Heavy rainfall is expected in Uzbekistan from September 20 to 22 this year. In response to this, Uzgidromet has issued a warning indicating that floods may occur in some districts across six regions.

It has been highlighted that due to the heavy rainfall, particularly in the mountainous areas of the republic, the following regions are at risk:

•    Kashkadarya region: The districts of Yakkabog, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, and Guzor may experience floods.
•    Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulung'ur, Nurabad, Koshrabot, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy, and Ishtikhan districts are susceptible.
•    Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiabad districts could be affected.
•    Tashkent region: Floods may occur in Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Orta Chirchik, Upper Chirchik districts, as well as in Angren and Almalyk cities.
•    Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts are on alert.
•    Fergana region: Sokh, Shahimardan, Fergana, and Beshariq districts are at risk.
•    Additionally, Andijan region, including Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduq, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts, and Khanabad city may also experience flooding.

The message concludes with a request for citizens residing in these mountainous and hilly areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through such regions to take precautionary measures.
