Uzhydromet issues flood warning

Uzhydromet has warned of potential floods in the foothill and mountainous regions of Uzbekistan due to expected rainfall on October 11 and 13-14.
The following areas are at risk of flooding:
- Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostonlik, Parkent, Piskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalik.
- Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts.
- Fergana region: Sokh, Shahimardan, Fergana, and Besharik districts.
- Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.
"Citizens living in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through these regions are advised to take precautionary measures," the report states.
It is further noted that heavy rainfall could lead to the accumulation of water, increasing the risk of flooding in the affected regions.
