On March 27, intercontinental playoff matches took place, with Jamaica defeating New Caledonia.
The match, held in Mexico, ended with a 1:0 scoreline. Bailey Cadamarteri scored the only goal in the 18th minute, securing Jamaica’s place in the final stage of the playoff for a spot at the World Cup.
In another playoff match, Bolivia defeated Suriname 2:1. They will now face Iraq for a place at the World Cup.
Jamaica, meanwhile, will take on Congo in the intercontinental playoff final on March 31 in Mexico. The winner of that match will join Uzbekistan in Group K of the World Cup.
For reference, Group K also includes Portugal and Colombia alongside Uzbekistan.
