New ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan was appointed

2441Ravshanbek Alimov has been appointed as Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Turkmenistan, as reported by the Dunyo news agency.
Ravshanbek Alimov, 58, previously served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments, and Tourism from 2020 to 2024.
A graduate of N. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan, and Georgetown University (USA), Alimov began his career in 1990 at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations (now the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade). Over the years, he has held several prominent positions, including department head roles in the Presidential Administration, Prime Minister's Secretariat, and the Ministry of Macroeconomics and Statistics.
From 2002 to 2008, he served as Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Ukraine and Moldova on a rotating basis and later as Ambassador to France and Portugal. Since 2008, Alimov has worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in roles such as Advisor at the Embassy in Moscow and Head of Department.
He succeeds Akmal Kuchkarov, who held the position of Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Ashgabat from 2016 to 2024.
Additionally, Oybek Shakhavdinov, previously Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia, was recently appointed as the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Montenegro.
