Colombia, Uzbekistan’s World Cup opponent, played a friendly match today, June 2. The South American side defeated Costa Rica 3-1.
In the match held in Bogota, Davinson Sanchez, Luis Diaz and Luis Javier Suarez scored for Colombia. Costa Rica’s only goal was scored by Andrey Soto.
For reference, Uzbekistan also played a friendly match against Canada today, June 2. Fabio Cannavaro’s side lost the match 0-2.
Colombia will face Portugal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uzbekistan in Group K of the World Cup. Its first match at the tournament will be against Uzbekistan on June 17 this year.
