Birth statistics in Uzbekistan: Samarkand takes the lead

From January to April 2025, the highest number of live births in Uzbekistan was recorded in Samarkand region, with a total of 32,118 births. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
According to official data, a total of 266,478 live births were registered by civil registry offices across the country during the first four months of the year.
The regional breakdown of live births is as follows:
- Republic of Karakalpakstan – 11,896
- Andijan region – 23,513
- Bukhara region – 12,390
- Jizzakh region – 11,787
- Kashkadarya region – 29,792
- Navoi region – 7,367
- Namangan region – 22,843
- Samarkand region – 32,118
- Surkhandarya region – 24,599
- Syrdarya region – 6,634
- Tashkent region – 20,698
- Fergana region – 30,371
- Khorezm region – 12,447
- Tashkent city – 20,023
For comparison, earlier reports indicated that between January and April 2025, there were 260,119 single births, 6,179 twin births, and 180 instances of triplets or higher-order multiple births registered in Uzbekistan.
