As of the beginning of 2024, the number of Uzbek citizens working abroad stands at 1.34 million, a decrease from the 1.9 million reported at the start of the year. This update was provided during a press conference on January 17 at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications.

The Migration Agency and private employment agencies have facilitated the departure of 162,000 citizens for foreign work in 2024 alone, marking a significant fourfold increase compared to 2023.

Notably, diversification efforts have expanded opportunities, with 10,000 citizens placed in new destinations such as Poland, Croatia, Belgium, Slovakia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

“In 2024, we engaged in negotiations with 240 large employer organizations across 36 countries. As a result, cooperation agreements were signed with 122 of these organizations. At the beginning of the year, 384 potential employers and recruitment agencies had cooperation agreements with the Migration Agency,” the press conference noted.
