Uzbek rescuers retrieved the bodies of 12 people from the rubble

13071As we reported earlier, the representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan mobilized in order to deal with the consequences of the earthquake in Turkey in accordance with the order of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. A search and rescue operation was started in Ovakent village of Hatay region.
Uzbek rescuers rescued 9 citizens from the rubble. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is noted that as of 08:00 a.m. today 8 February, 9 people (5 men and 4 women) were rescued alive from the rubble by the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, which arrived in Turkey. The bodies of 12 people were also retrieved. Furthermore, rescuers cleared 430 cubic meters of rubble in an area of 132 square meters.
Earlier, it was said that the search for 13 Uzbeks is continuing against the backdrop of the tragic earthquake in Turkey. In particular, 1 citizen of Uzbekistan died as a result of this natural disaster.
We remind you that on 6 February this year, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.9 (7.4 according to preliminary data) occurred in the southeastern regions of Turkey and several regions of Syria. Later, another 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey. In neighboring Syria, the number of dead was 1,444, and 3,530 were injured.
