Uzbek judo wrestler Elbek Abdullayev is disqualified for 4 years

Athlete Elbek Abdullayev, who took second place at the Judo Championship of Uzbekistan in December 2021, has been disqualified for 4 years. The National Anti-Doping Agency reports this.

The agency said that Elbek Abdullayev was tested for doping during the competition. A member of the Uzbekistan national team weighed +100 kg, was found to have unauthorized substances in a doping test.

The athlete, who is a member of the national team, tested positive for more than four substances determined as banned by the world Anti-Doping Agency: testosterone, anastrozole, boldenone and oxandrolone. These substances are exogenous (externally accepted) anabolic, androgenic steroids.

It is noted that the athlete committed an anti-doping violation in accordance with article 2.1 of the world Anti-Doping Code and the National Anti-Doping Regulations of Uzbekistan.

On 3 March 2022, following a decision from the Ethics Commission under the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan, Elbek Abdullayev was disqualified for four years. The disqualification period is from 3 March 2022 to 2 March 2026.

According to article 2.1 of the world Anti-Doping Code and the National Anti-Doping Regulations of Uzbekistan, Elbek Abdullayev will be suspended from participating in international and national competitions and assemblies until the end of the disqualification period.
