A U.S. Senator visits Uzbekistan

On August 25th, today, United States Senator Gary Peters visited Uzbekistan and met with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this on his social network page.
"We had a meeting with Mr. Gary Peters, Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the U.S. Senate, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agenda of our negotiations covered several topics of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States of America," said Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the meeting, Senator Gary Peters also mentioned that businessmen in Uzbekistan are ready to strengthen relations with business representatives from the state of Michigan and the USA.
It's worth reminding that earlier, Gary Peters was received by President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev during his visit to Kazakhstan. Tokayev noted that the visit of the U.S. senator is a great opportunity to exchange views on issues of bilateral cooperation.
