The number of fires that have occurred up to 15 January this year, has doubled compared to last year.  This was announced by Mavlonbek Doschanov, deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, at a briefing held at the Information and Mass Communications Agency.

It is noted that in most cases, fires in residential areas are caused by non-compliance with technical, fire and electrical safety rules in the use of gas and electric heating devices.

It is known that the decrease in the current weather temperature has lead to an increase in the need to use gas, electric and other types of alternative fuel heating devices.  In such cases, due to the incorrect use of heating devices, unfortunate events can occur and lead to various emergency situations related to fires.

In order to prevent such unfortunate events, it is necessary to observe safety rules when using gas equipment and heating devices.  In particular, these include not using gas stoves for heating rooms, constant monitoring of heating stoves and their chimneys, and not keeping flammable items near them.

It should be noted that four houses burned down in Namangan due to non-compliance with fire safety regulations.
