The price of water in Uzbekistan almost doubles

Tariff prices for drinking water and sewage services have increased in some regions of Uzbekistan. The "Uzsuvtaminot" company informed about it.

Starting from August 20, the price of 1 cubic meter of drinking water in the Tashkent region has been increased from 950 to 1700 soums (without VAT). This increase was based on the price of water supplied to the population by "Tashkent water supply" LLC. The new rates for drinking water are as follows:
-    For residents: 1 m3 - 1,700 soums
-    For budget organizations: 1 m3 - 7,000 soums
-    For wholesale consumers: 1 m3 - 7,000 soums
The sewage service rates have also been updated:
-    For residents: 1 m3 - 850 soums
-    For budget organizations: 1 m3 - 1,850 soums
-    For wholesale consumers: 1 m3 - 1,850 soums
In addition to the Tashkent region, the statement published by the company also includes separately updated tariffs for drinking and wastewater services provided by "Chimgan-Chorbog water supply" LLC and "Musaffo obi Hayot" LLC.

Furthermore, the increase in prices affects other regions as well. For instance, the price of drinking water in Surkhandarya has increased to 2140 soums per 1 cubic meter, and in Kashkadarya to 2000 soums.
