A few days ago, the World Bank suggested raising the retirement age in Uzbekistan to 65 years.  The Pension Fund commented on this information, which is being widely discussed in social networks.

“Currently, the retirement age in Uzbekistan is 55-60 years.  The Pension Fund informs that there are currently no proposals or projects under consideration in this regard, and this issue is not on the agenda.  Therefore, this proposal has no force and there is no reason to worry,” the comment reads.

It should be noted that the World Bank made several proposals to extend the retirement age in Uzbekistan.  For example, it was said that Uzbekistan is the republic with the lowest retirement age among the countries of the former Soviet Union, and women in the country retire at the age of 55, and men at the age of 60.  It was also announced that the retirement age for women and men in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Azerbaijan has been increased to 65 years.
