Brazilian embassy is expected to be opened in Uzbekistan

On October 5, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA, Furqat Sidikov, met with the Ambassador of Brazil to the USA, Maria Viotti. The Uzbek diplomat shared this information on his X social network account.


According to the information, the diplomatic representation of Brazil in the USA submitted a copy of the letter of credence regarding the appointment of the Uzbekistan ambassador to Brazil (headquartered in Washington).


"At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a visit by the Uzbekistan ambassador to Brazil by the end of 2023 to present the original copy of the credentials to Brazilian President Luis da Silva. During the trip, negotiations will be held with representatives from large business circles, chambers of commerce, various commercial associations, and leaders of advanced enterprises," the report stated.


During the meeting, it was mentioned that Uzbekistan has become Brazil's main economic partner in the Central Asian region, and the Brazilian government is exploring the possibility of opening an embassy in Tashkent.


Let us remind you that during the talks between Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev held in Moscow on October 7 of this year, the issue of establishing the Consulate General of Russia in Samarkand was discussed.
