By the end of 2025, Uzbekistan plans to implement 312 projects worth \$2.4 billion, create 16,000 high-income jobs, increase production to 53 trillion soums, and raise exports to \$1.2 billion. These ambitious targets were discussed on May 19 during a presentation on the progress and main priorities in the building materials industry, which was reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The presentation emphasized that the country’s growing population and rapid urbanization are driving demand for high-quality building materials. In response, numerous projects have already been launched, and nearly 10,000 enterprises are currently operating in the sector.

“In the first quarter of this year, production increased by 8 percent and exports by 11 percent. As part of the investment program, nine major projects worth \$500 million have already been launched. ‘Uzbekistan Trade Houses’ have been established in Dushanbe, Kabul, and Philadelphia,” the report stated.

Looking ahead, officials confirmed plans to implement 312 additional projects by year-end, creating 16,000 high-income jobs, boosting production volumes, and reaching \$1.2 billion in exports.

During the meeting, the President was briefed on measures being taken to meet these targets. He emphasized that quality, cost-efficiency, and a modern construction culture are among the most pressing challenges in the industry. Key priorities include introducing advanced technologies, enhancing the competitiveness of domestic products, and promoting their wider use in national construction projects.

“Scientific research and practical developments are crucial to achieving these goals. To support this, an R\&D center has been launched, and a German expert has been brought in as a consultant,” the report noted.

One such innovation includes new technology for preparing rolled concrete coatings for ditches and canals. This method is expected to reduce both time and cost by 10 percent and lower water consumption by 3–5 percent.

The President also underscored the importance of geology and science in supplying high value-added products to both domestic and international markets. He stressed the need to analyze energy-intensive areas and adopt cost-effective, innovative solutions.

An energy audit of large enterprises in the sector last year identified the potential to save 300 million kilowatt-hours. Officials noted that modernizing equipment and optimizing workflows could lead to significant cost reductions.

To ensure transparency and quality control, the “Transparent Construction” platform will establish a register of construction materials enterprises and monitor standards across the industry.
