In Uzbekistan, every Thursday may be designated as “physical education and sports day”

It was proposed to designate every Thursday of the week as a "physical training and sports day" in Uzbekistan. Today, on November 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will talk about this at the presentation of proposals for the wide involvement of young people in sports.  

The presentation also focused on creating additional conditions for young people to practice sports regularly. According to the proposal, every Thursday of the week is designated as a "physical training and sports day". Depending on the number of young people involved and the results achieved, the employees of the sports schools are given a bonus. Also, depending on the infrastructure, institutions are specialized in certain sports.  

The position of trainer-selector for mass sports will be introduced in the schools of the system, and up to five neighborhoods and educational institutions will be attached to them. Trainers who have established circles in the neighborhoods are additionally encouraged.  

"The president emphasized that the sports field is a major direction of the state policy regarding the youth, and expressed his views on expanding the facilities in this regard, educating the young generation to be mature in all aspects," the report said.
