The gross domestic product of Uzbekistan exceeded 80 billion dollars for the first time.  The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this in his address to the chambers of the Oliy Majlis at the same time.

“As a result of our large-scale and effective reforms, the volume of the gross domestic product exceeded 80 billion dollars for the first time,” said Mirziyoyev.

8 billion dollars of direct foreign investments entered our economy this year, and our exports reached 19 billion dollars,” said the head of state.

For information, the gross domestic product was 52 billion dollars in 2018, and the export volume was 14 billion dollars in 2018.

“This year, for the first time in our history, we brought the amount of pensions and social benefits to a level not lower than the minimum consumption expenditure.  For example, in 2017, 500,000 low-income families received social assistance, and today more than 2 million families are receiving assistance,” said the President.

It is noted that the allocated funds have increased 7 times and reached 11 trillion soms per year.

“We will consistently continue the policy of increasing wages, pensions and allowances, and income per capita.  Hard work lies behind every number,” says Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
