17 agreements were signed between Uzbekistan and South Korea

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and South Korean President Yoon Seok-yol signed a joint statement aimed at further deepening and expanding the strategic partnership between their countries, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

During the South Korean leader's state visit to Uzbekistan, 17 documents were signed, including:

  • An intergovernmental agreement with the Fund for Economic Development and Cooperation.
  • Agreements with the Korea Export-Import Bank and Hyundai Rotem for the purchase and delivery of high-speed electric trains.
  • An agreement with the Korea Export-Import Bank to supply science, information, and communication technology equipment to secondary schools.
  • An agreement to implement the Tashkent Farma Park innovative pharmaceutical cluster project.
  • An agreement on capacity building for civil servants in Uzbekistan.
  • A cooperation program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2025-2027.
  • A declaration on cooperation within the World Trade Organization.
  • A protocol on cultural cooperation.
  • An agreement on transport cooperation.
  • An agreement to modernize centralized heat supply systems in Uzbekistan's regions.
  • An agreement on partnership in the field of critical minerals.
  • An agreement to support the activities of the Uzbekistan-Korea Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
  • A memorandum on training qualified and professional personnel.
  • A memorandum on agricultural cooperation.
  • An interbank master credit line agreement between JSC "Uzsanoatkurilishbank" and the Korea Export-Import Bank.

It was also previously reported that 2025 is anticipated to be the year of exchanges with Korea in Uzbekistan.
