Uzbekistan and Pakistan sign agreements to boost strategic ties

On February 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held high-level talks in a narrow format and with the participation of official delegations. As a result of the discussions, both leaders signed a Joint Declaration aimed at further developing and strengthening Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation. Additionally, a protocol was signed to establish a bilateral High-Level Strategic Partnership Council. The Presidential press service reported these developments.  

During the visit, in the presence of the two leaders, several key agreements were exchanged, including:  

- Agreement on cooperation in science, technology, and innovation  
- Agreement on visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic passports
- Agreement on cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs
- Agreement on cooperation in vocational education
- Agreement on cooperation in youth policy 
- Agreement on cooperation between national news agencies
- Agreements between diplomatic academies and on cooperation between the cities of Tashkent and Lahore

These agreements aim to enhance collaboration in various sectors and further strengthen bilateral relations.  

It should be recalled that on February 25, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Tashkent on an official visit. A formal welcoming ceremony was held on February 26 at the International Congress Center in Tashkent.
