Uzbekistan and China discuss visa-free regime

4324Diplomats from the Uzbek Embassy and representatives of the Consular Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have held talks to advance cooperation on visa-free travel, as reported by Dunyo.
The meeting included discussions with Song Shiyu, Director of the Visa Policy and Affairs Department of China's Consular Department.
The dialogue covered a range of issues, including visa policies, citizen protection, and the development of regulatory frameworks to facilitate travel and cooperation between the two countries.
The Uzbek side highlighted its recent efforts to foster tourism, business, and foreign investment, emphasizing its commitment to visa liberalization as a key government priority. Positive outcomes from Uzbekistan's reforms in this area were also presented, underscoring the nation’s willingness to negotiate mutual visa exemptions with foreign partners.
Both parties expressed a shared interest in boosting citizen exchanges and strengthening the tourism sector. Song Shiyu praised Uzbekistan's political and economic reforms, particularly its achievements in visa liberalization, and reaffirmed China's willingness to collaborate further.
