On 10 April of this year, a 15-member working group headed by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan visited the Kyrgyz Kadamjoy district on the project of restoring the North Sokh underground gas storage facility.  This was reported by the press service of “Uztransgaz”.

At the meeting, the delegation of Uzbekistan discussed the implementation of relevant measures with the working group formed by Kyrgyzstan.  The condition of the gas wells in the region was examined, and the next steps to be implemented within the framework of the project were determined.

For information, during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan in February 2023, the energy ministries of the two countries signed a “feasibility study” to prepare the technical and economic basis of the rehabilitation project for the joint use of the North Sokh underground gas storage facility.  A "map” was signed.  The project to restore the natural gas storage system in the North Sokh underground gas storage facility is included in this plan.

“State representatives together with “UzLITIneftgaz” Joint Stock Company have developed a technical assignment for conducting field research in the wells of the North Sokh underground gas storage facility.  The condition of gas wells in the territory of Kyrgyzstan was inspected.  The next steps to be implemented within the framework of the project have been determined,” Uztransgaz reported.
