14700On April 20, 2025, Uzbekistan's U-17 national football team defeated host nation Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the Asian Cup final for players under 17, held in Saudi Arabia.
Despite facing challenges during the match, Uzbekistan’s team demonstrated exceptional skill and resilience. In the first half, Sarsenbayev and Abdukarimov received red cards in the 40th and 45th minutes, respectively, leaving Uzbekistan two players short. However, the team maintained their composure and fought back with determination.
Muhammad Hakimov scored the opening goal in the 50th minute in the second half, giving Uzbekistan the lead. Sadriddin Hasanov doubled the margin in the 70th minute, securing a solid advantage. The team’s goalkeeper, Rustamjonov, delivered a stunning performance by making crucial saves throughout the match and preventing Saudi Arabia from scoring.
Under the leadership of coach Islam Ismoilov, Uzbekistan’s U-17 squad claimed the Asian Cup championship title.
This victory marks the second time Uzbekistan’s U-17 team has won the Asian Cup, showcasing their continued excellence in youth football.
