Uzbekistan will play against Japan in the final of the U-23 Asian Cup

Yesterday, April 29, the semi-finals of the U-23 Asian Football Cup occurred. In the first match, Uzbekistan's Olympic squad defeated Indonesia 2-0, while Japan's U-23 national team triumphed over Iraq with the same scoreline.
Both goals in the Japan-Iraq encounter were netted in the first half, with Maoya Hosoya scoring in the 28th minute and Ryotaro Araki doubling the lead in the 42nd minute.
Consequently, Japan's representatives will vie against Uzbekistan's Olympic team in the continental championship final.
It's worth noting that both victorious semi-finalists secured direct Olympic berths. The Iraqi and Indonesian teams will compete for third place, with the winner earning the third Olympic spot allocated for Asia. The fourth-placed team will face Guinea in a playoff match in Paris.
For those interested, the Uzbekistan-Japan final kicks off on May 3 at 20:30 Tashkent time, while the third-place playoff is scheduled for May 2.
