Uzbekistan U-17 concludes its World Cup campaign

On 18 November, the Uzbekistan U-17 national team faced Italy in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup taking place in Qatar. Italy won the match 3–2.

Islam Ismoilov’s side began the opening minutes actively and managed to create several opportunities. However, the first goal was scored by the Europeans. In the 19th minute, Thomas Campaniello broke the deadlock. No further goals were scored in the first half.

Trailing in the score, the defending Asian champions started the second half with an attacking approach, and in the 56th minute, Amirkhon Murodov equalised. In the 68th minute, a goal from Thomas Campaniello put Italy back in front, and two minutes later, Dauda Idrisa extended the lead. In added time, Azizbek Erimbetov reduced the deficit, but it was too late to level the score. As a result, the Uzbekistan U-17 national team concluded its World Cup campaign in the quarter-finals.
