Uzbekistan defeats Turkmenistan 2-1 in CAFA Nations Cup

On September 2, the Uzbekistan national team defeated Turkmenistan 2-1 in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025.

The match took place at the Olimpiya Stadium in Tashkent. Uzbekistan opened the scoring in the 37th minute through Igor Sergeev. Sergeev doubled the lead with a penalty goal in the 44th minute, making the score 2-0. Turkmenistan’s Didar Durdiev scored a penalty in the 83rd minute, bringing the final score to 2-1.

Eight national teams are participating in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025, with matches being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Uzbekistan will face Kyrgyzstan in its next group match on September 5. The teams that finish first in their respective groups will advance to the final on September 8.

Earlier, on August 30, Uzbekistan played against Oman, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

It is worth noting that Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov is unable to participate in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 due to injury.
