An Uzbek-Turkish university will be established

An Uzbek-Turkish university will be established in Uzbekistan. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the second meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation.

As already reported, the president of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid an official visit to Uzbekistan on 29 - 30 March. This is his third official visit to Uzbekistan in six years.

During the visit, the second meeting of the high-level Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation was held and a joint statement on the outcome of dialogues including 9 agreements on cooperation in various spheres was signed.

After the meeting, the presidents held a press conference in which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the creation of an Uzbek-Turkish university.

“We agreed on the further development of a wide range of partnerships, from transport to energy, from health to education and culture. In particular, my brother [Shavkat Mirziyoyev] and I attach great importance to the establishment of the Turkish-Uzbek University. In fact, we have appointed the appropriate officials.  Tomorrow they will see the existing university building, and we will take immediate steps”, – Erdoğan said.
