On October 21, in Luxembourg, on the sidelines of the 18th meeting of the Uzbekistan–European Union Cooperation Council, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission. The minister shared the news on his Telegram channel.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to ensuring sustainable regional development, building new bridges between Central Asia and Europe, and further strengthening the existing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union. They also reviewed promising areas for expanding collaboration in sectors ranging from transport connectivity and “green” energy to innovation and education.
“We once again reaffirmed our mutual commitment to deepening the comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union. We discussed ways to enhance political dialogue, expand trade and investment ties, promote sustainable development, and strengthen regional connectivity,” Saidov wrote.
The Foreign Minister expressed confidence that the results of the meeting would give new impetus to expanding cooperation and building a stronger, forward-looking partnership based on shared values.
“Uzbekistan will continue to develop active and promising relations with the European Union based on mutual respect, trust, and our common aspirations for peace and prosperity,” he added.
It is worth noting that earlier, on October 9 of this year, Saida Mirziyoyeva, the Head of the Presidential Administration and eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, also met with Kaja Kallas.
