It was confirmed that Uzbekistan wants to expand oil and gas cooperation with Russia

Uzbekistan intends to expand cooperation in the Russian oil and gas sector.  This issue was one of the topics raised in the telephone conversation between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin today, 4 January.  This was reported by the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that the issues of further deepening of Uzbekistan-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership relations were discussed in the conversation.

“It was noted with satisfaction that the rate of development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the increase in mutual trade, the number of joint venture and cooperation projects with the participation of leading companies of Uzbekistan and Russia is increasing.

“Innoprom.  The importance of effectively using the opportunities of the international exhibition “Central Asia” and the Uzbek-Russian Forum of Regions was emphasized,” the official Tashkent report said.

Also, in the dialogue, special attention was paid to the issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of oil and gas.

Shavkat Mirziyoev highly appreciated the effective results of the CIS informal summit held in St. Petersburg on 26-27 December 2022.

“The phone conversation between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia took place in a sincere, friendly and practical spirit as always,” the report said.
