Uzbekistan wins a ticket to the Asian Cup

In the final round of the Asian Cup 2023 qualifying tournament, Palestine defeated the Philippines and advanced in their group.  As a result, the Uzbekistan team will continue on to the championship of the continent regardless of the results of the third round of qualification for the Asian Cup.  This is reported by the press service under the Football Association of Uzbekistan.

In the second match of the group in which Palestinians were victorious, Yemen will play against Mongolia.  However, the team that took 2nd place in this group will not be able to score more than 4 points.  Uzbekistan has 6 points.  Therefore, the ticket to the Asian Championship was booked ahead of schedule.

It is worth noting that the following teams, who scored 6 points in their groups, concluded to play in the continental championship.  These are Uzbekistan, Thailand, Jordan, Hong Kong, India, Bahrain, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier we reported that the Uzbekistan team won a convincing victory over the Maldives in the second round of qualification for the Asian Cup.

It should be recalled that today, 14 June, in the third round of qualifying Uzbek football players will play with Thailand.  The match is scheduled for 20:30pm at the Central Stadium «Navbakhor» in Namangan.
