Lessons in Uzbek schools can be temporarily transferred online

Minister of preschool and school education Hilola Umarova discussed the issue of starting the III quarter with local governments. This was reported by the information service of the ministry.

The agenda of the meeting held with the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, the deputies of the governors of the regions, and the city of Tashkent on social issues, the issue of the readiness of schools in the regions to start the 3rd quarter was put on the agenda.

In particular, the minister emphasized the need to once again re-analyze the state of preparation of the local governors of general education institutions.

Currently, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education is considering the issue of temporarily transferring students to the online education system until the weather conditions stabilize.

Earlier, the Ministry of School and Preschool Education announced on 5 January of this year that due to anomalous cold weather, the winter vacation in all schools in Uzbekistan was extended until 17 January, and the third quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year will begin on 18 January 2023.  However, on 10 January this year, it was reported that the authority to extend the winter vacation period was given to local governments, taking into account the weather conditions in the region.

We remind you that it was announced that studies in Tashkent educational institutions - schools, lyceums, and colleges, as well as higher educational institutions, will begin on 23 January.
