Yesterday, September 25, the semi-finals of the Uzbekistan Cup were held, with both intense matches lasting 120 minutes.

The match between “Bukhara” and “Sogdiana” turned into a dramatic contest. In the 16th minute, Dominik Begić opened the scoring for Bukhara, and in the 28th minute, Frane Ikić doubled the lead. The first half ended 2-0. In the second half, the Jizzakh team mounted a comeback. First, in the 72nd minute, Jasur Jaloliddinov reduced the deficit, and in the 89th minute, Filip Ivanovich equalized. The teams then went into extra time. In the 117th minute of the intense match, Nodir Akhmadjonov scored the decisive goal, sealing a historic victory for “Bukhara,” which reached the Uzbekistan Cup final for the first time in its history.

The second semi-final was played between the capital’s “Pakhtakor” and Samarkand’s “Dinamo.” After 120 minutes without a goal, the match was decided by a penalty shootout. Marko Stanojević of “Dinamo” took the first shot but hit the crossbar. “Pakhtakor” striker Igor Sergeev scored, putting his team ahead. Jumaboev scored for Samarkand to keep their hopes alive. Abdurauf Buriev also converted his penalty for “Pakhtakor.” However, Anvar Khojimirzaev’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper, marking the final attempt for “Dinamo.” Hamdamov successfully converted the last penalty for the “Lions,” securing their place in the final.

“Bukhara” and “Pakhtakor” will now face each other in the Uzbekistan Cup final, which will be held at Bobur Arena in Andijan.
