Uzbekistan defeat South Korea to reach quarter-finals

On January 13, Uzbekistan’s Olympic national team faced South Korea in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup group stage. Ravshan Haydarov’s side secured a 2–0 victory, earning a place in the tournament’s knockout stage.
The scoring was opened early in the second half, with Behruz Karimov putting Uzbekistan ahead in the 48th minute. Saidumarkhon Saidnurullaev doubled the lead in the 70th minute, making it 2–0. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, allowing Haydarov’s players to successfully conclude the group stage.

For reference, in the tournament hosted by Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan’s Olympic team defeated Lebanon 3–2 in the first round thanks to goals from Amirbek Saidov, Ravshan Khairullaev, and Sardor Bahromov.
In the second round, Ravshan Haydarov’s team played out a goalless draw against Iran.
As a result, Uzbekistan’s Olympic national team finished top of Group C with two wins and one draw, advancing to the quarter-final stage of the competition.
