Shafoat Rahmatullaeva, People's Artist of Uzbekistan, passes away at 83

Shafoat Rahmatullaeva, a renowned theater and film actress and People's Artist of Uzbekistan passed away at the age of 83. The Ministry of Culture announced the news.  

Rahmatullaeva dedicated many years to the theater, captivating audiences with her performances in musical, dramatic, comedic, and tragic roles.  

Her notable performances include portraying Maysara in "Maysara's Case" (Hamza), Narzi in "Love of the Motherland" (Z. Fatkhullin), Aunt Poshsha and Zebo in "How Are You, My Son" and "The Root of the Earth" (M. Boboyev), Gonorelya in "King Lear" (W. Shakespeare), Zuhra in "Ache Teeth" (Abdulla Qahhor), Madame Jourdain in "Fake Bone" (Molière), Aunt Tosh in "Women’s Fig" (J. Mahmudov), and Mamura the Old Woman in "Mamura the Old Woman" (Jean Sarron).  

In 1995, she received the "Best Actress" award for her unforgettable portrayals of Aunt Poshsha and Old Woman Ma’mura.  

The funeral for Shafoat Rahmatullaeva will take place today, December 24, at noon in Kokand, Fergana region.
