Uzbekistan finishes in top three at judo Grand Slam Tournament

The judo Grand Slam tournament concluded in Tashkent on March 1, with Uzbekistan securing a place among the top three teams in the overall standings with a total of eight medals.
On the final day of competition, Ernazar Sarsonboyev won a silver medal in the -100 kg weight category after reaching the final. Umida Nigmatova claimed bronze in the +78 kg division, while Alisher Yusupov earned silver in the +100 kg category in the tournament’s last bout.
The national team’s only gold medal was won by Shukurjon Aminova on February 27 in the women’s -57 kg weight class.
In total, Uzbek judokas completed the Grand Slam with one gold, three silver and four bronze medals. Japanese athletes topped the medal table with four gold, three silver and seven bronze medals, finishing first overall. Azerbaijan placed second with four gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
