Uzbekistan's Armed Forces will incorporate artificial intelligence-powered cyber structures, robotic equipment, and enhanced air defense units. This was announced during a Security Council meeting on February 21, chaired by the President of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, it was noted that modern regional conflicts increasingly rely on artificial intelligence, robotics, missiles, drones, and countermeasures. Given these advancements, Uzbekistan plans to establish specialized military units for drone operations and defense, integrate AI-driven cyber technologies, and expand its air defense capabilities.
President Mirziyoyev underscored the importance of ensuring the Armed Forces' combat readiness. He emphasized the need to improve military preparedness indicators, develop an AI-based automated command system for troops, and implement dual education models in military training programs.
Earlier today, the President visited the Center for Innovative Technologies of the Defense Industry Agency. He reviewed the center’s production capabilities, advanced technological developments, and military and dual-purpose products.
