Kyrgyzstan has received two Mi-8MTV military transport helicopters from Uzbekistan. One of them was provided as free aid, and the other was refurbished.

Kyrgyzstan's President, Sadir Japarov, shared on social media that in 2021, Uzbekistan generously supplied Kyrgyzstan with a Mi-8MTV at no cost as humanitarian aid.

Simultaneously, Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Defense sought assistance from their Uzbek counterparts to repair this helicopter, with the expenses being covered by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Recently, this helicopter was transported to Bishkek and was declared fully operational and flight-ready.

Japarov extended his gratitude to Uzbekistan's President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for the invaluable support provided.

"All of these efforts, undoubtedly, were carried out with the support and guidance of the honorable President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In this regard, I express my deepest gratitude to Shavkat Miromonovich," wrote Kyrgyzstan's President.

It is worth mentioning that on October 13, during the CIS Heads of State summit in Bishkek, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
