Uzbekistan, Malaysia, and Iran have submitted official applications to host the 2029 Islamic Solidarity Games, the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) announced.

During the initial evaluation process, six countries expressed interest in hosting the event, while Uzbekistan, Malaysia, and Iran later strengthened their candidacies with official proposals. A special commission headed by the ISSA Secretary General is now assessing the sports facilities, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities in these countries.

ISSA Secretary General Nasser Majali welcomed the strong interest from the candidate countries, noting that it reflects the growing prestige of the Games.

“We are pleased to see three countries with great interest and potential to host the next edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games. These inspection visits will be crucial in ensuring that the Games are organized to the highest international standards,” Majali said.

For reference, the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games will be hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The competitions are scheduled to take place from November 7 to 21 this year. Saudi Arabia also hosted the first edition of the Games in 2005.
