Uzbekistan recorded a very low result in the world on the level of knowledge of the English language

Uzbekistan ranked 89th out of 111 countries in the world ranking of English language proficiency.  This was reported by Education First international education center.

In these statistics, all countries are divided into 5 categories according to the level of language proficiency.  Uzbekistan, having scored 446 points, is among the countries with a very low index.

At the same time, Uzbekistan showed the best result among the Central Asian countries. Kyrgyzstan took 91st place (442 points), Kazakhstan - 99th (420 points), and Tajikistan - 106th (397 points).

According to the capital cities, Tashkent fell into the group with a very low performance, while the population of Astana and Bishkek showed a higher result.

In the group of 13 countries with a very high level of English proficiency, almost all European countries - the Netherlands is in the lead with 661 points, followed by Singapore (642 points) and Austria (628 points).

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Laos are the last places.

For reference, the EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) measures English proficiency among adults and ranks countries according to this index.  It is based on testing 2.1 million people in 100 countries and regions.
