The Uzbekistan national football team has climbed two positions in the latest FIFA world ranking, now standing at 55th place. The updated rankings were published by the international football governing body.

In the Asian region, Uzbekistan is currently ranked 6th. Although Japan has dropped two spots in the global standings to 17th place, it remains the top-ranked team in Asia. Japan is followed by Iran (20th), South Korea (23rd), and Australia (24th). Qatar holds the 53rd position globally, just ahead of Uzbekistan in the continental standings.

For reference, the Uzbekistan national team recently played two important matches—against Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The match against the UAE ended in a draw, which proved decisive for qualification to the 2026 World Cup. In the final qualifying match, Uzbekistan secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Qatar in Tashkent.
