Uzbek Ambassador presents credentials to Lebanese President

The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Lebanon, Abdusalom Hotamov, presented his credentials to the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, the Dunyo news agency reported.

During the conversation following the official ceremony, President Joseph Aoun expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for appointing an ambassador to strengthen bilateral relations with Lebanon and conveyed his greetings.

The Uzbek Ambassador also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon, Youssef Rajji.

The sides expressed their interest in developing political, trade, economic, and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Lebanon. They supported proposals to organize bilateral visits at various levels, hold cultural days, and implement initiatives aimed at boosting tourism flows.

For reference, Abdusalom Hotamov, who speaks Arabic, Russian, and English, headed the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg, Russia, from 2018 to 2024. The 53-year-old diplomat graduated from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.

He began his career in 1993 in government institutions in the Bukhara region and later taught Arabic at Bukhara State University. Since 1999, he has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is worth noting that on February 4, 2024, Abdusalom Hotamov visited Muscat as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman. In March 2024, he presented his credentials to the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
